Error message when trying to download data to UVPapp


I get this error message when trying to download data from a project using UVPapp2:

ERROR MESSAGE: The application encountered a network issue during data retrieving
        - check your Ethernet connection (cables)
        - check the firewall setting to provide permissions to UVPapp

I see on page 29 of the newest UVP6 manual available on the PIQv website that there is a section "5.1 PC configuration" that addresses this concern however the troubleshooting methods I tried from this section did not solve the issue.

Troubleshooting I have tried includes:

- disabling the firewall altogether
- forcing the ethernet connection to use the speed 100 Mbps Half Duplex
- using a switch between the computer and the ethernet
- changing the local IP address (many tried, including the one indicated in the config file)
- changing the IP address in the config file to the one that UVPapp is trying to use
- combinations of all of the above

Please advise if there is something I can try next.
